my last landlord raised my rent so much that I decided to just build my own home. over 6 years, rent has gone up $600. but the house wasn't $600 better. he didn't give us $600 better service. the rent ended up being so high that it was lower than a mortgage for the same spec home. now I live in a larger home than we were renting and my mortgage (2.75% rate) is about the same. I was happy renting, but you can't just keep raising the rent.

Same. We absorbed the extra cost instead of pushing it to our tenants

I’ve been in the same house 11 years. First two years no raise and then after that they were raising it 3 times a year and then covid doubled it. It’s been about a year since they raised it. I hope they don’t.

First year for me was a mind blow. I made too much and the tax man wanted more. I in turn lowered all the rents.

I live in Los Angeles and own 10 units. We can charge so much in rents. They are limits.
