I think Logan easily fit into both her worlds. He never minded going to her house and doing town stuff. Whereas Jess Hated being apart of town stuff.

Logan is the only man who Rory could have been married to while also traveling for her work and having everything she wanted. Dean and Jess would have pitched fits about her never being home. I never got her turning Logan’s proposal down bc he just wanted something to say yes while we are off building our careers we still have eachother.

We actually don't know what Jess (at the end of the series) as a partner would be. He doesn't get any credit in my book for yelling at Rory fof dropping out of Yale because 1. He didn't actually do anything to help her re-enroll. And 2. He begged her to drop out at the end of her freshman year

I will never understand the “Jess was redeemed” argument when he repeatedly ignored Rory telling him to stop, she had to physically shove him off, and he responded by getting angry at HER. Then he never apologized or acknowledged what he did. Showing up later with a book and a better attitude is character development, not redemption. Redemption requires accountability. You don’t get to sexually violate someone’s boundaries, disappear, come back more mature, and have the slate magically wiped clean. You can like Jess without pretending one of the worst things he ever did stopped mattering because the show and the fandom. conveniently glossed over it.

The word break is right there in break up so I can understand why never-had-a-relationship Logan would think that's a full break up and thus didn't think it was cheating at all. Just finishing a rewatch and even how much Logan loved Taylor and the hay bail maze chaos, he worked to bridge well with Luke and maintained a lot of accountability with Loreali — def sucks at times but even his gaps were very Rory-coded (cheating, runs away when mistakes are made, both have a naive-privilege pov) but he also loved exactly who Rory was and could be at every point and didn’t have her on a pedestal — also Jess’ character jump is a bit too movie magic imo, his faults are ignored later but would still bring back similar issues and gaps between them (also runs away, doesn’t communicate, doesn’t like the part of Rory that isn’t an outsider the way he felt). Also Rory not using her trust fund wasn’t smart, she could always do so much w her privilege as a tool but Loreali and starshollow treated that as something to ignore

Jess was the boyfriend she needed to push her into the uncomfortable conversations, into thinking that maybe just maybe her journalism track wasn’t it. But also to open her eyes to life outside Starshollow. Ultimately, Logan (season final) was the best boyfriend for her, and fit into her world, and she fit into his, dean? Yeah nah even in Season one he gave red flags a lot of the time
