@adhdrealtor.sandiego: Realtors are NOT free labor. 📢 Yes, commissions are negotiable. Yes, there have been transactions where I’ve voluntarily reduced part of my commission to help get a deal across the finish line. But that is MY business decision. The idea that Realtors should be expected to give away part — or ALL — of their compensation because a deal needs money is wild to me. We have businesses to run, expenses to pay, and countless hours invested into our clients and transactions. We are not the bank for the transaction. Imagine your boss saying, “The company needs your paycheck this month, so we need you to voluntarily give it back — and you’re not getting reimbursed.” Would you do it? Agents, stop negotiating your own value down to zero. And if someone thinks I make too much money and wants me to do the job for half the compensation? Apparently, I know a Realtor they can call. 😂

The Artist Who Hunted Groceries With a Bow Modern history, unusual art, consumer culture, and one of the strangest supermarket performances of the 1990s came together in 1992 when German artist Christian Jankowski created a work called The Hunt. For one week, Jankowski entered supermarkets carrying a bow and arrow and treated ordinary shopping like a hunting trip. Instead of simply picking products from the shelves, he aimed at items such as frozen food, butter, toilet paper, and other groceries, shot them with arrows, placed them in his cart, and then took them to the checkout. The cashier simply scanned the products — sometimes with the arrows still sticking out — and Jankowski paid for everything like a normal customer. The strange performance had a deeper idea behind it. Jankowski wanted to compare ancient hunting instincts with modern consumer life. Humans once had to search for and hunt their own food, while modern society allows us to walk into a supermarket and choose mass-produced products from a shelf. By bringing a bow and arrow into that modern environment, he turned everyday shopping into something that looked primitive, absurd, and funny at the same time. The performance became one of Jankowski's earliest and best-known works. Rather than simply criticizing supermarkets, The Hunt used humor to make people think about consumerism, modern society, and how far everyday life has moved away from traditional ways of finding food.
