Katniss knew the berries were poison. Haymitch didn’t.

LUCA :
Katniss was Haymitch, but luckier. And her luck was Haymitch, knowing how to protect her, because he had gone through it before and lost almost everything.
Haymitch was "the middle man" victor of District 12.

No it wasn’t luck. It was circumstance. Katniss had more training in a sense (wilderness), and she had a haymitch to guide her plus the revolution was finally ready for someone.

Arthur Morgan Mustache Ride 🐎 :
If you think about it, katniss only succeeded because all of the others who had tried before her lived and came together for one final games that ended them all. No one revolutionary was the key, they needed them all and the foundations they’d all built to finally break the cycle.

Is she really the lucky one when she still lost the person she did all of that for?😭💔

If Haymitch hadn’t failed, Katniss never would have succeeded

I feel like it symbolises that revolution must be chosen, not forced. It had to be a choice from the people, to protect the people.

The color palette switches from lighter to darker for Haymitch whereas for Katniss it's from darker to lighter...

He sparked the flame that burned the games to the ground and finally allowed for a sunrise without the reaping on his birthday. He wasn’t lucky by any means but his actions were a major contribution to the success Katniss and Peeta experienced in the games BOTH times

Katniss had Haymitch on top of the help from everyone else, he was the missing piece for it all to align when the right person finally came alone [Crying]

He had people back her from the outside, he sold her as a symbol. Nobody helped sell him as a symbol. Nobody worked with him, he knew how to play the games because he watched the games after having been in them. When he was first in them, he wasn’t exposed to the social politics in the capital. He had connections after the fact, not before. Comparing them both is pointless— when you consider she wouldn’t have been able to break the games, if she didn’t have the support to over throw it

Something else that happens is that Katniss never went in with the idea of being the mockingjay; she only wanted to rescue her sister, and those spontaneous moments helped her, while Haymitch did want to be the mockingjay.

It was too soon for haymitch, him and other victors had roles to play in the rebellion that didn’t come until Katniss showed up

I think it also makes me think of the quote “ we stand on the shoulders of giants” it took 75 years and very determined people who helped . From victors who never really gave up to the districts themselves. Katniss really was luckier with better timing
