Anti depressants have helped me so much at different times of my life, I have CPTSD and am now on Ecitalopram. Well done for advocating for yourself, speaking out which will not only help you but many others too.

Stick with them, if I didn't have sertraline I wouldn't cope. No change to me apart from I am able to cope now.

It won’t change who you are or make you emotionless. It just lessens the severity of the fear and doubt. in a couple of weeks, you’ll be going about your day and realize that you are easily doing things that caused issues before. You’ll feel really weird at first, but stick with it! Changed my life for the better!

I’ve been putting them off for years and finally decided to try them this year. I’m on Mirtazapine to help me sleep and Escitalopram. Messed me up a little at first as my body was sensitive to change, but I’m starting to feel more like myself again ✨ Good luck to you sir x

I take Sertraline. Everyone is different but I feel it definitely takes the edge off my anxiety. It's still there, especially if triggered, but it's much less dreadful. I still feel like myself, they didn't numb me. I hope they work well for you. If you do want to stop taking them do NOT go cold turkey like I did once,😆 ❤️hope you feel better soon 💜

Owen hun the best way is to double prog the depression. Meds and therapy, just because you need the meds now don’t mean you’ll need them forever and the therapy will help you handle everything you’ve been through especially with your health

You got this 💪🏽.. do whatever you need to do to get through it. Don’t worry about people’s opinions on things or think you’re any less of a person taking medication. Only you know what is right for you.

It won’t change who you are … you will just be better able to manage what life throws at you. When I started my meds I felt a bit worse for a couple of weeks - then it settled in and I feel better. You can do therapy while on the meds too!

Reducing the effects of depression and anxiety will make a huge difference in your life. It really does help and doesn’t change who you are. With everything you are going through, it’s completely understandable. You deserve a break.

It won’t change who you are but it’s frustrating to hear they chose Sertraline as it’s one of the ones most associated with gastro side effects. Did they talk about this?

I'm not surprised at all. Don't expect it to work straight away and don't despair if it doesn't. it takes time. Keep sharing and reaching out. You have been through so much

Going through the pain, unanswered questions, fear of what’s going on… it’s totally understandable. You don’t have to take them forever ❤️🩹

I was on Sertraline for about 2yrs and it did help but made me feel really sick for about a week but they did help..I decided to come of them as my heath got a bit better as my anxiety wasn’t as erratic as before - they didn’t drastically change me but made me feel a bit more like me but not totally me before illness if that makes any sense - I hope they help you

I’m on antidepressants and I did therapy before and did it alongside taking antidepressants. I will say that the first two weeks are hard while your body is adjusting to it but it does get better
