honestly, it was bound to happen even if they didn't go on the show. isolation of that scale plus strict religious ideals can potentially do some horrendous things to a persons mental state. hell we saw how bad the damage was when one of the boys was terrified of playing a video game cause of the false narrative the mother put into his head.
