Chris Hopper :
It was incredible. I saw him 3 times in person, 2 Buick opens and at St Andrews in 2000 when he won his Tiger slam, I was 9 years old then. I was a junior in high school when he won 2008 US open on one knee…he made crowds electric. There won’t ever be anything to that level again I don’t think.

In his prime it was like watching Mozart or a artist create their work

We all knew we were watching the greatest to ever do it and couldn’t wait to see what he would do next. I literally have been watching his old highlights on YouTube lately because golf without him just isn’t the same

We were literally glued to the TV. Expecting him to pull off miracles, and always win. We were rarely disappointed.

I got to see him in person when I was 11 years old at the 2009 Buick Open (Warwick Hills, in Grand Blanc MI). He ended up winning the tournament by 3 strokes at -20. I still get chills thinking about seeing him in that sunday red during his prime. It was like seeing a ghost. I still remember it vividly to this day.
