i fear they’re going to write out the gamemaker cleaners, which would be such a shame on the maritte & maysilee front. because that’s the turning point where they (or at least maritte & silka) realize they surely won’t be allowed to win. i could see them completely writing out maritte & silka’s involvement in that scene, but it’s really pivotal imo for maysilee so it would be a shame for the scene to be cut completely. buuuuuut knowing there are some aspects being changed already bc of the graphic nature of it all, i’ve chosen to just go into it thinking “anything that isn’t giving us haymitch’s direct storyline is just edited version for capitol propaganda purposes” lol

I’m not sure if they’d replace the cleaners, considering a certain (non spoiler) character does get punished (killed) for their actions against the cleaners. I’m not opposed to them replacing the bats though.

i don’t know how i feel about it in sub A, but imo it’s really important to keep the ones that get killed. that’s part of the reason haymitch makes it out, because maysilee is being punished for killing them.

the cleaner scene is not only to show how much vicious the Capitol is in imposing their punishment but it would also be a reminder that the games is literally a tv show with an active production going on

I think it actually changes a core reason why Maysillee dies. If there are peacekeepers down there when he blows it up, there’s no way those peacekeepers don’t die. If that happens then that means Haymitch killed people running the games which would mean Haymitch would have to die rather than given the option at the end with the milk. If that stays the same then why Maysillee dies has to change as well. Which I think in theory they could just have her attacked by mutts as like a random act rather than a deliberate one but it still shifts core themes and lore about how the games are controlled and how the Capital does actually chose who they want to win in certain cases. Since it’s just a trailer I don’t feel too strongly about it but I am very curious about how that is going to alter things

Unpopular opinion since the original movie trilogy didn’t go into detail about the mutation and how there is literally DNA from the dead tributes mentioned in the first book. I believe this adaptation is better understood because the movie never explained the insanity of the mutations used throughout the story.

I only will be ok if we still see the 3 game makers that die at the hands of of the tributes as that is why silka should “win” and it takes away from the rigory

I really hope that the film has keeps scene in when they run into the peacekeepers with the careers though because that was actually pretty key to “remember who the real enemy is”

it wouldn't surprise me if the bats swarm as haymitch is being captured and those peacekeepers are some extra casualties
