Islam essentially says that suffering has a purpose & what you may perceive to be bad for you may be good for you and what you perceive to be good for you may be bad for you (see the story of Khidr & Musa AS to understand this concept). All our lives are interconnected with one another which is why an action has good and bad consequences for different people. Suffering exists for growth and should ultimately be used to get closer to God. Atheists might say but why would He even allows suffering to exist for His servant, He should have made a world free of it. Yeah, that world is called “Heaven”. You are on earth, your life has a beginning and end, it is full of suffering and ease, because this world is a trail, an environment where you are given free will to excersize and which will be used to judge between those who deserve heaven or hell. Ultimately, everything that exists must fundamentally be used to establish a stronger relationship with God and make you more conscious of Him. When He gives you suffering, you must exercise patience & hope so that you can growth stronger and so can your faith, which makes a better version of yourself. When you have ease, you must practice gratitude & altruism so that you can thank God for your provisions and take God as an example, and provide those who do not have those provisions with your excess. God gives you suffering and ease to test what you will do in those scenarios, to elevate or degrade your status in the afterlife, to establish the perfect place for you.
