The uniforms were manufactured by Hugo Boss but designed by SS-Oberführer Karl Diebitsch and graphic designer Walter Heck. Neither man had any connection to Hugo Boss.

Hugo boss did NOT design the uniforms, this is a common misconception the designs and patterns were given to Hugo boss to make, although they did later in the war use forced Labor. the bigger story is what happened to German corporations toward the end of the war
