@pandas_dream_life: How to call upon Nemesis when someone has wronged you and prospered because of it — but know, you do not get to decide what justice looks like. This working is for someone who gained something through what they did to you. You are not asking Nemesis to hurt them. You are asking for the imbalance to be weighed. Before midnight, write two accounts of what happened. On the first, write only what they gained. On the second, write only what you lost. No insults, accusations, desired punishment, or exaggeration are allowed—the working is supposed to fail if you try to influence the judgement. Place the two accounts on opposite sides of an old balance scale. Adjust neither side, even if one hangs much lower than the other. Then speak only once: “ Nemesis, daughter of Night, behold what stands unequal. Take nothing because I hate. Return nothing because I desire. Let only the measure decide.” Leave the scale untouched until sunrise. Then burn both accounts separately and bury the ashes in different places. If their circumstances change—or yours suddenly begin improving—you don’t interfere with whichever side of the balance moves first.
