Let's talk money, honey. A potential client recently reached out with a $350 budget. If you know me, you know I'm all about being inclusive and flexible - I've got options for a range of budgets. So I let her know what I could do for under $350: a cute foam board backdrop with some balloons and vinyl.But she responded saying that's not what she wanted- she was looking for our full standard setup (wooden backdrop, 15+ feet of balloons and custom vinyl) for $350. I politely let her know that unfortunately, we can't offer that full setup at that price, but l'd love to work with her if she ever wanted to revisit. She later said she found someone else who could do it within her budget — and that's okay! Here's the thing: Being flexible is great. Offering a range of price points? Smart business. But undervaluing yourself? That's a no for me. Your pricing should reflect your time, talent, materials, and effort. You're allowed to say no when the math isn't mathing.
