@himansshuu: EÄRENDIL || It is elven tradition to give several names from both father and mother. Tuor named his son Eärendil, 'Lover of the Sea', which was very fitting, as Eärendil is a great mariner. But Idril gave her son the name Ardamírë, meaning 'Jewel of the World'. The mother's name among elves is usually prophetic, and so Idril predicted that Eärendil would become important to the world.
