you know I actually just don’t know anymore - the only thing that I can see is that many ethnic groups in Australia have very strong identities tied to nationalistic pride, which is where they derive their morals from, as well as their sense of self and feel-good emotions, so perhaps by integrating into another culture and letting go of their current beliefs or even softening them, they feel as if they’re ’losing face’ or some perceived status; real or imagined. I’ve experienced racism from all sides, for example when I’d go out with my more ethnic friend and get with more girls he’d explain that “it’s because you’re a white kunt” and then the white girl would tell her friends how I’m a “southern European animal” and she’s ‘doing something crazy’, or whatever. Not to mention racism from Croatians, Albanians, Bosnians as well, Turks, Muslims (apparently I committed the Srebrenica massacre), Lebanese — and then just the general fuggwittery from my own people - (Serbs).
