@sfchronicle: A strike by San Francisco security guards that began Friday morning could disrupt operations at some of San Francisco’s landmark downtown skyscrapers: Salesforce Tower and the Salesforce Transit Center, the 555 California St. office complex and 101 California St. The properties are home to some of the city’s most prominent employers and institutions, including Salesforce, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo Advisors. Service Employees International Union-United Service Workers West, which represents 14,000 security guards in Los Angeles and the Bay Area, including 3,700 in San Francisco, voted Tuesday to authorize workers to walk off the job sites in these markets. A union representative told the Chronicle Friday that the walkout began at 6 a.m. Friday after negotiators declared an impasse following bargaining that continued into the early morning hours.
