Zanj was a huge region, not one country, and evidence of Mogadishu’s trade or influence in parts of the coast does not prove conquest, territorial administration, or colonization. Al-Idrisi and the later Sofala accounts do not establish that Somalis ruled all of Zanj. You’re taking limited evidence of commercial activity and inflating it into a nationalist fantasy. Name the specific Somali polity, territory, dates, administrative structure, and primary source proving colonisation or admit that the claim is exaggerated.
