My paycheck provider just did a large delivery to a city 2-4 hours away (depending on traffic with the interstate being “updated”) it cost more in fuel than the materials delivered. We are about to see a supply chain crisis very similar to the one five years ago but this time it will simply be fuel driven. I don’t know what this winter is going to look like.

They did something similar a few times in the 70s They parked their rigs where ever. In the late 70s stations ran out of gas because truckers weren't making deliveries.

And it’s also essential medical supplies to hospitals and speciality pharmacies, etc as well. If they follow through with this (and I’m 100% on board with them doing this!) please keep an eye on your disabled friends, family, and colleagues because we’re kept on tight in-home supply inventories, so most people do not have adequate supplies on hand to sustain through temporary supply chain dry ups. During the beginning of COVID it was a nightmare, and hospitals and specialty pharmacies/home supply companies have been running lean ever since then.

Well if we run out of diesel, they won’t be able to go anywhere. Even our regular gas comes to us by diesel trucks.

We did a painful grocery and supply run last night. We’ll be at home, gardening on the balcony, and entertaining ourselves with the library of books we’ve bought but not read yet. Might get a dvd player from the thrift store and dvds of our fav movies and series and cancel subscriptions at this point,

I live on a busy highway. Tiny little town with one stop light and one gas station. I’ve lived here for 20 years and I can tell you the semis are slowing down. Hardly any dump trucks and semis compared a normal Friday. It’s been so quiet that I could have a phone conversation. And hear the other person. My red neighbors are mostly farmers and truckers. They are freaking the fuck out.
