This can be definitely useful but I would say also take into consideration how your lecturer wants the essay wants to be formatted. Attend all lecturers explaining the assignment and contact them for those extra tips. They are usually the one marking so they might want a specific structure, tone and use of critical analysis to get a first class or a distinction. To get a 1st class your work must stand out from others (in a good way)! AI is good but AI has been trained by humans, the response you’ll get will never be so outstanding or creative. Most likely or students will have the same response to you if they also used that same AI tool and that prompt. Use AI but don’t let it switch off your creative part of your brain! 😌 Try to prompt AI to give you certain theories, concepts or ideologies rather than relying it on completely

I’d caveat this with a disclaimer that AI right now is terrible at synthesis. Because synthesis as a skill requires a level of judgement which is ultimately personal. For AI to do so, would require AI to make human-like judgment which it cannot do. AI is excellent at analysis and can do plausible attempts at synthesis, but will stop short of original thinking. AI should be a research tool/assistant, not a substitute for your own thinking!
