As a teacher I agree with this. I always have mine in on time. I believe that if you expect your students to have work turned in on time, you should have grades in on time. We are there to teach, and teaching responsibility for your work is part of it.

Idk man, I used to grade papers for a teacher back in HS (I had the answer hey in front of me) it took me 45 mins to do 6 classes if 30+ kids. So idk why it takes so long. Maybe give out less graded assignments if yall don’t have the time to grade them in a timely manner. It’s help all sides. Teachers on grading-kids on doing work outside of school hours.

Look, if my college professors can get our grade in within a week of a research paper, high school teachers can too. Not to be that person, but it shouldn’t take you longer than 5 business days to grade something. You knew what job you got, you knew what requirements and time is required to excel.

as teachers we do so much more than grade papers. doing your homework on time and having due dates is just part of your responsibility as a student. it teaches you to be responsible for when you get a real job with a real due dates that don’t have extensions. We don’t take work home because that would create an unhealthy work life balance. work you’re getting paid for is not the same as schooling that you’re required to do.
