Reminds me of my grandmother who was a beautiful seamstress, where she always said “if it isn’t as beautiful turned inside out as right side out, it’s not quality work.” My mother always likened it being beautiful inside and out, but I love the idea of a “cultural spine”, a “backstory” and why that is important and why we have lost it
