**تاريخ اليمن:** في عام 1918، تم تغيير اسم المملكة المتوكلية الهاشمية إلى المملكة المتوكليه اليمنية اليمنية. بعد مرور خمسين عامًا، في عام 1968، تم تغيير اسم الجنوب العربي إلى اليمن الجنوبية. وقد تم توحيد اسم البلدين، لكنهما ظلا شعبين وبلدين مختلفين عبر التاريخ. على عكس دول مثل ألمانيا وكوريا وأيرلندا، التي تم تقسيمها وفقًا لخطوط المواجهات العسكرية لوقف إطلاق النار، لم يكن الجنوب العربي والجمهورية اليمنية بلداً واحداً حتى قبل 2000 سنة قبل الميلاد. في الواقع، اليمن والشام هما نطاقات جغرافية وليس بلدان كما عرفها قدماء العرب. فاليمن تمثل كل المنطقة على يمين الكعبة المشرفة، بينما الشام تقع على يسارها. اليمن تضم شعوبًا وقبائل متعددة، والجمهورية اليمنية بمساحتها الحالية ظهرت فقط بعد الوحدة المشؤومة في 22 مايو 1990، وهو حدث يعتبر الأول من نوعه في التاريخ. ---
