Is there any way to still mix with the volume faders once I add automation? It always just snaps back to position and the faders are essentially useless then. Sometimes I need to raise the entire track a bit and keep the automation.

i prefer to use a gain plugin as an insert in the channel

I’m very careful not to fuck too much with the main fader automations, if I have to, I just add a gain plugin and do my automations there…for me the main faders are for balance n subtle moves
