Upset about the possibility of being placed in a nursing home, she allegedly retrieved two handguns she had owned for decades and confronted her son in his bedroom. Police said she fired multiple shots, killing him. When Blessing allegedly pointed a gun at her son’s girlfriend, the woman fought back and managed to disarm her. Blessing reportedly produced a second gun, which the girlfriend also managed to take away before calling 911. 🚔 THE ARREST: Authorities found Blessing sitting in a recliner inside the home. She was arrested and reportedly confessed to the shooting. She faced charges of first-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and kidnapping. ⚖️ THE OUTCOME: Blessing never went to trial. After suffering a stroke in November 2018, she was placed in hospice care and died on January 25, 2019, at the age of 93.
