@magneticgirlfit: Give your lower abdominals some love ⬇️ I’ve personally always found lower-abdominal work challenging, and I’ve been noticing some progress since incorporating more controlled core exercises like this one, which has become one of my favorite ways to challenge the lower portion of the abs while building core stability. This reverse tabletop variation is a 10/10 for building core strength + stability while challenging those deeper lower-abdominal muscles. You’re working to keep the pelvis and torso stable while one leg moves through a controlled leg lift and alternating crunch, which makes this so much more than just an ab burn. You can absolutely do this with bodyweight, but I added 3 lb ankle weights and my core was involuntarily shaking by the end (start with 2lb if you’re new to ankle weights!) I added this as a finisher to my full-body mat Pilates workout: ✨CORE FINISHER✨ → 10 full-range reps → 10 controlled leg lifts + leg crunch (alternating, and keeping the torso as still as possible) → Repeat on the other side Form tip: The goal isn’t to force your leg as high as possible, it’s to maintain control. Try not to lean or rotate to one side, keep your core braced, and minimize movement through your torso as you alternate between the leg lift and crunch. For the crunch, come down just below the height of the block with your elbows bent, then use your core to control the return. If you’re doing this as a standalone core workout, try 2-3 rounds! Think -> control over momentum, it’s never about speed! #PilatesTok #CoreWorkout #PilatesWorkout #AbWorkout #FitnessTok
