During our recent trip to China, we explored ancient towns and mountains during the day, and experience the vibrant city life at night. If you are thinking about a trip to China, save this guide and follow for more China travel inspo! 🌃 CHONGQING 🟢 Hongyadong 洪崖洞 is best visited around sunset so you can see it before and after the lights turn on. 🟢 Liziba Station 李子坝站 is where Chongqing’s Line 2 monorail appears to travel directly through a building. 🟢 Luohan Temple 罗汉寺 is a peaceful Buddhist temple surrounded by Chongqing’s skyscrapers. 🐼 CHENGDU 🟢 Visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding early in the morning when pandas tend to be more active. 🟢 Head to Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li after dark for shopping, food and the giant 3D panda screen. 🟢 Tower of Life is especially impressive after dark when the structure is illuminated. ⛰️ ZHANGJIAJIE 🟢 Allow at least 2 - 3 days for Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Highlights include Yuanjiajie, Tianzi Mountain and the Bailong Elevator. 🟢 Stay near Wulingyuan for easier access to the national park. 🟢 Add Tianmen Mountain if you have another day. It is a separate attraction closer to Zhangjiajie city. 🏮 FURONG TOWN 🟢 This ancient town is built directly around a waterfall and is best experienced after dark when the buildings illuminate. 💧 DUJIANGYAN 🟢 Visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, an engineering project dating back more than 2,000 years that still helps control and distribute water today. 🟢 After dark, head into Dujiangyan city to see the famous glowing blue water known online as the Blue Tears. 🌆 GUANGZHOU 🟢 Head to the Canton Tower and the Zhujiang New Town waterfront around sunset. Stay after dark to see the tower and Guangzhou’s modern skyline illuminated along the Pearl River. 🟢 Explore Yongqing Fang 永庆坊 and the surrounding Xiguan area for historic Cantonese architecture alongside restored shops, cafés and restaurants. 🟢 Make time for Dim Sum while you’re here! Guangzhou is one of the best places to experience traditional Cantonese morning tea.

The more modern parts of China seem way different than how we depict it. Way more technologically advanced and futuristic…I mean it’s got the technologically underdeveloped parts but so do we. The culture is so rich. And the food. Omg. But yeah…never going until tensions with the US lessen. 😔 Sad to think I may never get there…we’ll see.
