One Piece indirectly got me into reading too. Started the anime, once I caught up I started reading the manga and I've been keeping up with only the manga for like 5 or 6 years now. That made me start reading more manga like Kingdom, and getting into manga also made me start manhwa which after a few years got me to really want to try webnovels which the manhwa are adaptations of but I couldn't get into those, and after some time I started Dungeon Crawler Carl because I kept seeing MANY people recommend it on tiktok. Im on book 2 now and its AMAZING. Well anyways now I bought the whole DCC series, A song of Ice and Fire, Mistborn and red rising because I've been loving reading

I got into Kafka through Tokyo Ghoul. I can really recommend you to read that when you’re done with One Piece

I’d suggest Murderbot Diaries. It’s sci-fi though. It’s a bunch of short novellas, and it’s got a bit of a One Piece vibe. It’s a crew of nice people trying to save folks from evil space-governments.

Just reading in general is awesome. I read science. I have no time for fiction beside weekly mangas. Even reading magazines it's great.

I'm the same with books just like your brother, started with anime, now I read manga, and always had trouble with reading traditional books. I'm slowly trying to get into reading and I have read the first two Witcher books, and I'm currently on the third one, Blood of Elves, which is more novel-like, and progress has been slow but very enjoyable. I am optimistic that I will keep going so I already have purchased the next entries so I can read all of them 😁

For a guy first getting into reading, get him a copy of Speaker for the Dead. Enders Game first is optional, but he’s gonna love Speaker.

I used to be a big reader in my teens, then I just shied away from it for years. I got into reading manga because of one piece. This year I started reading the classics trying to find what I like.
