It was HISTAMINES ⬇️⬇️ Magical news, my skin reactions have finally stopped! It was an interesting journey and not an easy one because a) it was something very new for me so I didn’t have a ‘tool kit’ so whip out and b) stress was a part of the reaction, and I find that the hardest to manage - but we got there!!! Here were some of the struggles I had that I didn’t realise were connected to histamines (until I did my histamine reset): 1. Itchy skin 2. Small + high volume of spots (unlike my usual acne) 3. Headaches 4. Flu-like sniffles 5. Dizzyness I initially thought (like most people) I’d have to cut out a million ingredients from my life - but I actually found it very simple! My diet wasn’t crazy high in histamines, I was just over indexing on tuna and avocado, AND I’m a big fan of meal prep - which, can increase the histamine levels in food. So I actually didn’t have to change my diet much + I only temporarily had to focus on a lower histamine diet, I didn’t for a few weeks, and then reintroduced my main high histamine foods one at a time to see if any specific ingredient was causing an issue (for me - tuna is a no no right now) but everything else in moderate amounts is ok! Something I noticed during my histamine reset, was stress reactions! So, I archived all work chats from 5pm so I ‘switched off’ and doubled up on my NSDR meditation! Food and stress are only part of the reset I did, so let me know if you want the full breakdown (I’m writing it all as we speak into a guide - so hopefully that’s helpful for you!!) Lots of love, Soph x #histamines #histaminereset #histaminediet #histamineprotocol
