Treehouse Detective :
I enjoy Interstate 60 from a formalist perspective. I love weird little movies like this. But it’s one of the most whiny boomer movies I think has ever been made. The culmination of Marsden’s character arc is standing up to his dad for getting him the wrong color of sports car, and there’s some weird classist shit at the end where Amy Smart’s character pretends to have an urban New York accent when he meets her, and he has a big character moment where he stands up for himself for the first time by…rejecting her because her accent is trashy? And then she’s like “nah I’m just kidding I talk normal.” It’s real weird.

Bob Crows :
This is such a weird, 70s-era movie that somehow was made in the 90s.

Amy Smart's a rare gem. I don't have any opinions on her acting, but she makes my eyes happy.

I LOVE this film, truly an under appreciated gem. It’s a what if the Odyssey was written and made by the A/V club in a good way.
