I'm crying. we just lost our senior german shepherd, Pippa. we only had her for a year, but that year was a lifetime of love. she was severely neglected, and her back legs were very weak. she was so scared at first when our neighbor abandoned her, wanted nothing to do with us. that quickly changed, and she became the most loyal, beautiful baby. she didn't even know what a dog bed was. sadly, she had a tumor in her belly that the vet didn't notice either when we went for exams. i loved her so much, she was an amazing dog. i will never see german shepherds the same again, equal parts intelligent and loyal. it felt like living with another human.
