Because minoxidil is not the only thing you need, minoxidil grows hair, but the reason you are balding is because of DHT which makes your hair fall out, you need a dht blocker like Finasteride or a stronger one like dutasteride

You need a DHT blocker if you’re planning to continue to use Minoxidil or any growtj stimulant. DHT is why you’re thinning in the first place, you need to block it (in the scalp specifically) for your follicles to have a chance to grow/
