My daughter loves the spooky stuff she picked both of these out. She also put a pink 6ft skeleton in her high chair. They are meant for outdoors but she demanded they be inside. I personally hate the boring fall all pumpkin and leaves decor. I love the neon sparkly spooky stuff. It reminds me of Halloween town. Everyone has the right to handle their loved ones remains and other peoples opinions do not matter. I can see how the scary stuff can be triggering but it’s been tradition to have scary stuff for hundreds of years. It was originally meant to ward off evil spirits. I do think the cemetery stone decorations are weird tho.

I drove by a house with a ghostly body HANGING from their tree. That legitimately upset me and stayed with me for quite some time

I cremated my son, because the thought of burying him creeped me out. mostly because of the rotting. but I still love skulls and skeletons. not that you're not valid for your feelings tho!!!

I took my son to the dollar store to pick out some fall/halloween decor and they had fairy garden stuff so I was like oh let’s get some for baby brothers garden. My son picked out a set that’s a skeleton on a hammock and a crow sitting on a skeleton head. He said “I think baby brothers would like this” 😭

I didn’t think twice about stuff like that, but I experienced 2 really hard losses in my family in August, and now I genuinely can’t look at that stuff without thinking of them. Skulls, skeletons, headstones, even sometimes zombies and ghosts bother me. I really didn’t expect it, but it’s given me huge perspective on how so many people must be walking around with these huge and random triggers and they just cope with it every single day.

maybe it's cause I'm in the medical field and I'm kind of...... ""crazy 🤪"" but even with my daughter's death I don't care about the skulls and the fake cemeteries, but I get it's not really a normal take from my part 🫣

Even though I did choose cremation for Noah that trend made me immediately think of that. Having to choose between cremation or burial.. there IS no good option, neither one is desirable and no one should have to choose that for their child 😭 but goodness yes I agree some of the Halloween decor is so off putting

The day of the dead in Mexico is a huge tradition and skulls are a a big part of it. I think it’s just personal trauma or personal experience. My daughters hands were see through? That sounds terrible but skeletons don’t bother me. This is how I decorated her non stone plot at the cemetery for Nov 1st- tradition of when angel babies come back (day of the dead). This was the first year of her passing we didn’t have a stone at the time.

The Disney movie Coco changed my mind and helped so much. Skeletons are really sacred in Mexico and not in the decorative way Americans treat them.

When I lived in Denver we had a neighbor who put up this sheet in the window that looked like a body… a year prior the other neighbor had come home and found her son that way. THAT felt intentional and a little evil.

My neighbors have a mini skull wreath for halloween and it’s the same size my daughters head was. It is SO triggering every time I go in/out of my apartment

I feel the same…once you have to visit the cemetery because your baby is there, the skeleton and haunted cemetery decorations bother me so much😕 I can accept the adult ones but any that hint at kids/babies I think is going way to far

I’ve always thought the skulls cemetery and dead things was not cutesy for Halloween. It’s rather insensitive to me 😬Like the pumpkins are cute 🎃 the dressing up as characters is cute
