@sarahhhhale: If you’ve ever been to a psychiatrist tell me what it’s like? How much does it differ from behavioral medicine? Or is it the same? #sensoryissues #pregnancy #cancersucks #grwm #MomsofTikTok
You may want to maintain the help with sensory issues if you plan to breastfeed. Glad you’re seeking help ❤️

A psychiatrist can do wonders with meds! But i recommend still finding a therapist to do talk therapy! Both together will be game changing! ♥️

girl one of the worst parts of postpartum if you bf (or at least for me) i had to wear a bra 24/7 🥲 so that i could have breast pads in from leaking and plus my nipples rubbing on my shirt was awful. such a sensory nightmare

I’m so glad you’ve got a therapist! Don’t be afraid to try an online psychiatrist or even a psychiatric nurse practitioner.

I am the same exact way with sensory things and NO ONE understands! You are definitely not alone in the way you feel!

Please look up dry brushing. This works wonders for my son. It took several weeks for us brushing him in the areas that clothes bothered him. I was always concerned he’d never wear jeans. Now he wears dress pants at chick fil a working 5 days a week. Never give up seeking help in this area. His OT therapist helped us tremendously.

I can’t wear tight clothing or I will have a panic attack. Nothing can be too close to my neck including my own hair. My hair is always in a bun because I don’t want it to touch me. So I pretty much wear clothes that are 3 times too big and people make fun of me for it but I could care less because my mental health is more important than their opinion

you should look into a perinatal psychiatrist! they usually have faster openings since they only deal with pregnant/postpartum women :)

I wasn’t a huge fan of a psychiatrist. They are more analytical and definitely not warm and fuzzy (in my experience). I felt so weird sharing my most vulnerable thoughts and feelings while having someone blank stare at me

my MIL passed in May from breast cancer and it was so so hard. I’m here for you, thinking of you guys, everything. I actually found out I was pregnant with my 3rd a few weeks before she passed and we didn’t tell her, so I’m really thankful that youre able to have time with your mama while you’re pregnant 🩵

I have a larger top section and in the winter time I have to always have a bra on to keep things contained and I have sensitive skin and if things aren’t contained I’ll literally chafe and I feels like knives in my shirt.

I also have sensory issues! Mine have gotten worse with pregnancy’s and postpartum. But I did breastfeed both my girls for 18/19 months and I stopped because it started to drive me crazy sensory wise. Never thought of getting help for them, but super intrigued now!
