been there. you go back cause you want to see if they can change, especially a sibling cause "you were raised by the exact same parents, how can they really be that bad" you give it a go, you realise it IS that bad, you take a break, the hurt fades, you try again til you learn it's not going to change and they're nothing but a drain on your life and your better off without them. you can wish them well but you're both better off without the other in their lives. some people take breaks and don't talk for decades til they get old and have to deal with aging parents and how they'll need care and how to sort that care then you have to talk. but you'll realise they never changed in half a century and the moment the parents are 💀 you'll never speak again.
