South also had black officers and the north didn’t. Another fun fact is the South offered blacks the same deal the British did during the revolutionary war. They would be freed if they joined the military after the war ended. Lot of people don’t want to mention that. Also the battle of little big horn by Custer was due to the Indians fighters in the confederacy. It all tied together somewhere
