I'm 54 an RN worked hard my entire life to be told at 50 I have terminal cancer I was supposed to retire at 60 busting my butt paying off 2 mortgages & saving every penny possible. we were actually moving into our "old folks home" a tiny house on the river outta town when I was diagnosed we now have zero savings & sold half our river property. I'm still working 33hrs a week even though it kills me for insurance. If she has the chance to retire DO IT!!! If it doesn't work out just keep renewing that license you can find a nursing gig in A DAY! 🥰 GOOD LUCK!!🥰

The comments are disappointing, sounds Ike it’s from a bunch of non health professionals who don’t truly understand how this is a REAL flex. Nursing is physically and mentally exhausting. You see countless deaths , politics, and severe exhaustion from tireless moments of giving a 100% to others and 0 to yourself. I’m am proud of you! And if you ever get bored just keep the license renewed and switch specialties. To more happy moments to the both of you 🥂

These comments are weird. This is so sweet and a lovely thing to do for someone you love. If she is a nurse she can literally just take a couple classes to get her license active and get another job. She built the career and got the education, she can come back to it if she wants or needs to.

As a woman who studied hard for a degree, and for testing to get certified, living with a man who told me, I didn't have to do this, that he would take care of me, who broke up with me right after I passed the test, I'm telling you if you want to do something else, continue part time with this until you complete that something else!
