I HIGHLY recommend reading Disjointed: Navigating the Diagnosis and Management of Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders. It changed my life after my hEDS diagnosis

so I am 99% positive I have this... but im questioning if I even bother getting tested. is there something that helps this or is it just the knowledge of having it?

I have all these things and more but the rheumatologist refused to test me for HEDS because “sometimes people are just a little extra flexible”. I’m in pain 🫩

The difference in pain perception is so real though! I wouldn’t say I’m constantly in “pain” but I always have some sort of “discomfort” when it’s actually “pain”. It changes that baseline and threshold which makes it hard to determine what “normal” should be.

One thing that my hyper mobility does to me that’s crazy is how many pinched nerves I get and back injuries that are triggered by pinched nerves. Nerve pain is no joke. I’m pretty sure it’s called sciatica? But I’m not rlly sure but it’s wild to me that people aren’t in constant pain.

Thank you for mentioning the low humming pain. I think I've gaslighted myself so much because doctors refuse listen/help me so I don't have any diagnosis yet and my goodness does my brain like to try to convince me that I'm actually not in pain. But it's just that, it's low humming kinda pain, slowly gnawing at me from the inside 🥲

I had a labral tear in my hip, the doctor examining me mentioned hyper mobility. Had 0 explanation as to how it happened... recently I found out I have rolling hiatal hernia, also unexplainable. Both of those can be caused from hyper mobile EDS, I asked my doctor about it and he did the physical tests and yup. I bruise extremely easy and small wounds don't heal very fast - my dr did every blood test he could think of and they all came back normal... that can be another sign of hyper mobile EDS
