i was a WDW kid but remember i had a cassette as a kid and it had Baroque Hoedown on it, titled such! i asked my uncle what it was, and he told me it was originally a Disneyland song! so funny it isn’t, but is a Disney adjacent tune!

You forgot the the following information: then in 1977, composer Don Dorsey remastered the music, making it sound more catchier and adding a opening and closing fanfare (before that it used the opening from the original (which is still heard a little bit in the opening fanfare) and NO ending). When Tokyo Disneyland revived their electrical parade in 2001, composer Greg Smith rewrote the entire soundtrack. The song became high harmony, orchestral arrangements were introduced (for Tokyo only) and the oscillating swoops were replaced with pixie dust sounds (though the swoops are still in the opening). The US Disney parks would introduce this version in 2009.

I found it on a classical music compilation cd once in the early 2000’s and thought I was having a stroke. I recognized it instantly as the MSEP even though it was listed as the hoedown!

every time you show the Disneyland Paris castle in this video it made me giggle. I had to look up whether that park had ever had an Electrical Parade (like Disneyland’s and Toyko’s) and apparently they did! the floats seemed to be a mixture of floats from the Magic Kingdom’s SpectroMagic and later floats from Tokyo and California.

In the early days of WDW Cosmic Ray's had a different name but there was a human musician in there named Michael Iceberg. He played a synthesizer and it was magical! Funny how the Baroque Howdown story made me think of this. ❤️

go to YT music. search for baroque hoedown. first song that pops up is MSEP. Then, scroll down a little and you will see baroque hoedown. play that one. doesn't sound like MSEP. Same instrument. Different song. It would be like saying Jump from Van Halen is the same song as America Woman from Jimi Hendriz because both use the electric guitar.

Everything Disney is made by someone else. It's one of the best things about the company. The brothers were all about showcasing talent. There was a special segment on the TV show about the people who make the magic.
