@sindymflorestal: How does insulin actually lower blood glucose? After you eat, blood glucose rises and the pancreas responds by releasing insulin. Insulin travels through the bloodstream and binds to receptors on cells. In skeletal muscle, insulin signaling moves GLUT4 transporters to the cell membrane, allowing more glucose to enter the cells. In the liver, insulin promotes glucose storage as glycogen and reduces glucose production and release. As blood glucose returns toward its regulated range, insulin secretion decreases—helping maintain glucose homeostasis. 💡 Insulin doesn’t destroy glucose. It helps coordinate how glucose is used, stored, and regulated. #Insulin #BloodGlucose #GLUT4 #HumanPhysiology #MedicalEducation
