Those were stone masons who built those things. Their craft was secretly guarded. Think of them as a labor union who required people to take oaths to join. They didn’t disclose their secrets to the uninitiated. It’s no different than modern day tech firms who own intellectual property and require their workers to sign non disclosure agreements and non compete clauses. One fact about those stone masons is that they were illiterate. They learned from their apprenticeship. I’m sure somewhere someone documented the methods used and it’s probably in some Masonic library. The modern Masons (Freemasons) kind of put the ancient masons out of business. Freemasons is really a a group of men of nobility who adopted ideas given to them by the stone masons. That’s why Freemasons have the degree system. I’m sure a handful of them know the secrets of how they built pyramids but that goes into academic study which only a minor in that fraternity actually study. Most of the members enjoy the social aspect. Handful move onto the esoteric studies. And a small fraction actually go into the Masonic libraries to study in detail. My two sense is that there’s a handful of people who know how these structures are built and the knowledge is safeguarded not to protect it but to keep people interested in the mysteries. That’s kind of a recruiting tool for masons.
