@samehunger: Arguing with a reporter and restricting an outlet's access are different exercises of power. On September 18, Trump announced a White House ban on CNN, MS NOW and Politico, blaming their reporting. The Trump footage here is from November 2018, not today's announcement. Obama's June 2012 exchange followed a reporter's interruption; that exchange alone was not an outlet ban. China's 2020 expulsion of three Wall Street Journal reporters was a more severe penalty. The comparison is about using access to punish editorial content, not treating the countries as equivalent. The standard should apply whoever holds office. Where should the line be between managing press access and punishing coverage? Sources: original US government recordings and transcripts; Trump's September 18 announcement, corroborated by AP and Axios; China's February 20, 2020 foreign ministry briefing; CPJ reporting. Generic synthetic narration with authentic archival speech and original explanatory graphics. #SameHunger #PressFreedom #FirstAmendment #WhiteHouse #MediaAccountability
