TIGHT & PAINFUL CALVES / ACHILLES?! AGAIN?! If tight & painful calves keep holding you back, it’s time to take action. Here’s how you can tackle it head-on ⤵️ First things first to consider, those sensations of tightness before, during, or after your runs aren’t just random. They’re a signal. And while stretching might give you some short-term relief, it’s not the long-term solution you need. The real fix? Improving your calves’ and Achilles’ ability to tolerate the load you’re putting on them! Here’s how: ✔️Firstly, reduce the volume of the activity which is causing the tightness (running in this case) ✔️ Start by using the drills shown in this video. ✔️ Add load to your strength exercises as you’re able, aiming for a hard effort (8/10 on the RPE scale). ✔️ Gradually increase intensity in your plyometric exercises—faster, more explosive & higher reps ( overtime ) ✔️ Stay consistent: 2–3 sessions per week (or more, if needed). Commit to this, and you’ll build stronger, more resilient calves and Achilles that can handle the demands of your running! Want a more individualised approach? 🔴 Comment “INJURYHELP” below if you’re done with setbacks and want to work with me to get back to running PAIN-FREE and perform your best in 2025!
