If you’re looking for an easy chicken dinner idea, you NEED to try this creamy garlic Parmesan chicken orzo! Tender chicken, crispy bacon and creamy Parmesan orzo all come together in one skillet for the ultimate comfort-food dinner. It’s creamy, cheesy, garlicky and surprisingly easy to make — perfect for a quick weeknight chicken dinner when you want something the whole family will actually be excited about. Save this creamy chicken orzo recipe for dinner this week! Servings: 4–5 Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 30 minutes Total Time: 45 minutes Ingredients For the Chicken * 1½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into small bite-sized pieces * 1 tbsp olive oil * 1 tbsp butter * 1 tsp garlic powder * ½ tsp onion powder * ½ tsp paprika * ¾ tsp salt * ¼ tsp black pepper For the Bacon * 6 slices bacon, chopped For the Creamy Garlic Parmesan Orzo * 1½ cups uncooked orzo * 3 cloves garlic, minced * 2 tbsp butter * 2½ cups chicken broth * ¾ cup heavy cream * 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese * ½ tsp garlic powder * ½ tsp onion powder * ¼ tsp Italian seasoning * ½ cup baby spinach, roughly chopped, optional * Salt, to taste For Finishing * Extra freshly grated Parmesan * Crispy bacon * Fresh parsley, finely chopped Directions 1. Cook the bacon. Add the chopped bacon to a large skillet over medium heat. Cook until golden and crispy, then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate. Leave about 1 tablespoon of bacon drippings in the skillet. 2. Season the chicken. Pat the chicken dry and season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. 3. Sear the chicken. Add the olive oil to the bacon drippings and increase the heat to medium-high. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for about 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and cooked through. Add 1 tablespoon butter during the final minute. Transfer the chicken to a plate. 4. Start the garlic orzo. Lower the heat to medium. Add 2 tablespoons butter to the same skillet followed by the minced garlic. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. 5. Toast the orzo. Add the uncooked orzo directly to the skillet and stir for 1–2 minutes, letting it lightly toast in the garlic butter. 6. Cook the orzo. Pour in the chicken broth and add the garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a gentle simmer. 7. Let it get creamy. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook uncovered for approximately 8–10 minutes, stirring frequently so the orzo doesn’t stick. It should become tender while absorbing most of the broth. 8. Add the good stuff. Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the heavy cream followed by the Parmesan. Continue stirring until the cheese melts and the orzo becomes thick, smooth and creamy. If it gets too thick, add a splash of chicken broth or cream. 9. Add the spinach. If using spinach, stir it in and cook for another minute until just wilted. 10. Bring everything together. Return the chicken to the skillet along with about ¾ of the crispy bacon. Gently stir everything together so the chicken gets coated in the creamy garlic Parmesan sauce. 11. Finish & serve. Top with the remaining crispy bacon, freshly grated Parmesan and a very light sprinkle of parsley. #FoodTok #foodtiktok #fyp #EasyRecipe #DinnerIdeas
