Yes and no. It really depends on where someone's perspective is coming from: is it grounded in the objective reality of their lived experience, or are they being negative just for the sake of it? That is a distinction a lot of people struggle to make, largely because society is conditioned to mistake raw honesty for pessimism. I follow a creator on here whose content isn't traditionally uplifting, but once you understand their background, it makes complete sense. There is a massive difference between reflexive negativity and someone simply refusing to perform fake optimism about a life shaped by complex, non-standard circumstances. Having been exposed to people from all walks of life while traveling the road, my immediate reaction to that kind of honesty isn't, "Oh, they're negative." My thought is, "They are being real instead of pretending that life is glamorized, easy, or beautiful for everyone.

some of these people are such negative a holes. You could be dealing with an issue that could be resolved simply and they will make it complicated, get insulting, and generally not be a friend.
I don't need people like that around.

You can’t ask someone who has lived through a miserable life to suddenly be positive lol. If they could just choose to be positive, I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t want to be negative or miserable in the first place. But I guess it’s also their responsibility to heal themselves over time. Getting upset at them probably won’t help much, but you still have the free will to be upset with them.

Negativity is like a cancer. It’s easiest to notice at work because you can love a place and be excited for a job and then you hear everyone spreading their complaints about it and it’s so much harder to ignore and combat

Miserable people are the ones who are always complaining. For one whole day, don't complain at all, don't even think it, and you'll feel the difference
