A nonprofit has no owners. The land and equity belong to the organization, controlled by a board. You can't sell the assets and pocket the money, and if it dissolves, assets must go to another nonprofit.

In my experience nonprofits are tricky to set up and they require detail and discipline that a lot of people aren't built for, which is how so many people end up in jail. They don't do their homework, it might be accessible but it's not "free."
