Anyone that’s wants to visit the hospital either has to get their shots or wear a mask and wash their hands. My mom will be helping us during the first few months at home so she and my dad are getting the shots 🙌🏼

NEVER my mother kissed my son after I said NO because shes granny and its fine I just need to grow up. he was 3 weeks old and got RSV spent 3 weeks in PICU. he now has asthma from damage.

Unfortunately, I had to take my newborn to church at only 1 week old. I draped a blanket over the pumpkin seat and stayed away from everyone. As we were leaving an older lady tried to pull the blanket back to look at her. She jumped when I snapped at her to leave my baby alone. I don't regret it!

as a proud grandma of 8 grandkids, ages 15 yrs old down to my newest 3 month old. I have never kissed them when they were new born. I held, fed, changed, and gave them baths.

When my nephew was a baby, I gave him Eskimo kisses or I would put my cheek to his cheek and do a kiss. Even an air kiss. It was during COVID as well so we were all extra careful and cautious.

I saw a baby with oral herpes at the pediatricians once 😭 all because they got a kiss when someone had cold sores (the poor baby looked like they were in pain, had blisters all over their mouth). That made me never want anyone coming near my kids. My family respected that, it was the acquaintances who had an issue with the no contact rule.

I work as a nurse and when I worked urgent care I stayed away from my grandbabies because I didn’t want to expose them what I was exposed to. I totally understood why my DIL didn’t want people kissing them.

I think a rule of thumb is, if you feel sick, you don’t go around a baby. When my daughter was born, I took her to restaurants around two weeks old just to get out of the house. But no one touched her but me or her father. I didn’t let a stranger touch my child. And she did not catch anything. She’s not gonna catch anything just from being in a restaurant. She has to come in contact with a germ. I think if you’re smart about it, it’s OK to take a baby out. I’ve not seen a stranger touch a baby ever I don’t think. I don’t think that’s a thing. That’s kind of rude. And ask for kissing a baby, kissing. A baby on its mouth is weird. Only a parent should do that. As a grandparent, I think on the forehead is OK or the cheek. But once again, wash your hands use hand sanitizer and don’t go around a newborn if you’re sick or even feel unwell. I think two strict is not good either.
