As my mother was getting sicker and weaker I deliberately let calls go to voicemail so she would leave a message and I would have messages from her. I have messages of her singing happy birthday and telling me she loves me. My most treasured position.

My mom has bulbar ALS and she’s at a facility living on a respirator that’s within 5 mins from my rental. She can’t move anything in her body or communicate. Just blink or crying eyes. I can still hear her voice in my head encouraging me to do hard things like before she was diagnosed. She’s still here but it’s like she’s not. Having autism is hard because I really need her and I’m so scared without her and I just want a hug.

When I was 2 I had an accident that nearly took my life. My brain was bleeding and they were considering emergency surgery. By some miracle I pulled through without it. During my recovery. My mother gave me a flower that would play this lullaby whenever I pressed a button. I still vividly remember the joy I felt….my mother’s gone now. Cancer took her too soon, I was 15. This song mixed with the theme of this video reminded me of that feeling, and of my late mother. God Bless.
