During my 3d ultrasound at 34 weeks my son had his hand over his face the whole time, the lady tried touching my stomach, different angles, couldn’t get him to move. She made a joke and my husband laughed, my son heard it and smiled repositioning his whole body. Wether people like to hear it or not, there is a level of consciousness there even if we aren’t fully able to measure it. They’re humans. They feel. Not just pain but emotions too. This moment put that thought into concrete for me.
