The door shut with a final thud. ​Oom remained standing near the center of the room, hands tightly clutched together in front of her, eyes swam with fresh tears as she looked at Bam, draped in black, carrying the sharp aura that commanded every inch of space around her. ​"Bam..." Oom whispered. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to make a scene with your sister. I just." ​"Sit down, Miss Eisaya," Bam interrupting her without raising her tone. ​The use of her formal title hit Oom like a physical blow, cutting deeper than any insult. Oom pulled out a chair across from Bam and sat down, knees feeling like lead. Bam didn't sit. She simply leaned back against the table, crossing her arms over her chest as her unreadable eyes pinned Oom in place. ​"You wanted to speak to me," Bam said coldly. "You have three minutes. Say what you came to say." ​Oom squeezed her eyes shut for a brief second, forcing back the lump in her throat as she looked up into the eyes of the woman she love, eyes that now looked at her like she was a stranger. ​"I didn't come to make excuses," Oom voice cracking under the weight of her grief. "I know I ruined everything. I know I betrayed your trust, and nothing I say can undo the pain I caused you. But please, please believe me when I say that what I felt for you was never a lie. I don't care about the business expansions, my family's expectations, or anything else anymore." ​Oom reached across the table, fingers stopping just short of touching Bam's bandaged palm, terrified of being pushed away. ​"I only care about you, Bam," Oom sobbed quietly, tears finally spilling over her cheeks. "I fell in love with you. Completely, hopelessly. Please, tell me if there's any chance, no matter how small, that you could ever forgive me." ​Bam looked down at Oom's trembling hands on the table, then slowly brought her gaze back up to meet Oom's desperate eyes. ​A quiet second passed before Bam spoke. ​"Forgiveness requires trust, Miss Eisaya," Bam said softly, words carving through the room. "And trust is not something you can rebuild when the foundation was constructed on a lie." ​Bam pushed herself off the edge of the table, straightening her black coat with grace. ​"Your time is up." ​Oom just nodded and said, "I'm really sorry. I regret everything I did to you, Dr. Saralee." ​"What are you still doing? Come on," Bam making Oom look at her, confused. "Don't make me drag you up." ​Oom silently followed Bam outside. Bee, Bint, and Engfa were waiting and glaring directly at Oom, which made Oom stop a few steps away as Bam walked over to speak to them. ​"You go home first. I'll be there in a few," Bam told her group calmly. ​"Phi, are you serious?" Bint asked, her brows furrowing deeply. ​"Yes.
