I’ll never forget the time there was bad weather in the area and so I decided to go pick up my daughter from school. They wouldn’t let me take her because they were about to lock down for the weather. I told them either they were going to call her to the office or I was going to get her myself. They refused, I went to her classroom, got her and stop by the office on my way out to let them know she is officially unenrolled now.

The parent was wrong however I’m glad it happened bc it highlights the school doesn’t have good safety standards at all. It’s scary.

This happened once at the school my children attended in HISD. The mother was upset she missed the early pickup time by 15 min and went into the school to get her child. Admin was immediately called over the radio and met her on the 2nd floor while she was knocking on the doors & trying to open them. She was able to leave with her child & had to be escorted out. It was a huge topic at our school because the principal at the time did nothing, at all, during the event and after. All I'm going to say is if that mother at our school had been a POC the event would have turned out differently.
