Brian was still helping people outside of his mission too, he stopped to help every single person he met, infected or not. the Umbrella workers couldnt even be bothered to meet him in the middle of the hospital to ensure his safe arrival.

I initially didn't like how he handled that situation cause I was thinking of how it'd feel from the gf's perspective but I would probably do the same thing (especially now) cause if you're in a position where double pay to an "outside zone" at the end of your shift is an attractive option then you probably aren't in a great financial situation to immediately say yes to starting a family

I love your analyses, they’ve helped me understand the film a lot better! Especially how frustrating the ending was, because I wanted Bryan to make it home, but I knew that wasn’t going to be a possibility once we find out he’s carrying part of the cure :(

I just wish it had a spark of hope at the end. I know it’s a reimagining of how the second game starts. I’m not saying it was a bad choice. I just wish we could have a small spark of hope at the end for our protagonist.

Idk I think it’s less commentary on socioeconomic status of the world and more so just showing Bryan’s character to wanna save people. There’s a lot more game references that I don’t think it’s making that big of a statement. Obviously if he had money he wouldn’t accept the job but that’s like lvl 1 commentary tbh.
